OPEN HOUSE REMINDER

We had another wonderful week here at LSS. Your third graders are truly amazing and a wonderful group to be with each day!

Open House is on Thursday, September 19, 2019. 

6:00-7:30 PM. 

I will be hosting ONE presentation from 6:00-6:25 PM. 

If you have multiple children in the school, there will be another session after mine, for you to attend and learn about your other child’s curriculum. I will not be available during the second session.

If you can’t make it to my presentation from 6:00-6:25 PM, please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.

Hansel and Gretel Eat Right

May 2019

Hello Families,

Our students will be performing the play “Hansel and Gretel Eat Right” on Wednesday, June 5th at 9:00 AM.  Below is a list of costumes.  Please send in these clothes on Tuesday, June 4th.  We have the rest of their costumes here at school.

Gretel = dress

Hansel = white button-up, dark shorts, knee socks

Mother = dress, white apron

Father = dark dress pants, collared shirt

Chorus = blue or white t-shirt

Storytellers and Narrators = blue or white t-shirt

Rabbits = white tops, light bottoms (leggings or sweatpants)

Squirrels = brown tops, dark bottoms (leggings or sweatpants)

Raccoons = grey tops, dark bottoms (leggings or sweatpants)

Elves = red or green tops, dark bottoms (leggings or sweatpants)

Witches = black tops and bottoms

Compost Pile = dark tops and bottoms

Birds = yellow or orange shirts, dark bottoms

MYSTERY SCIENCE!!

Happy Wednesday!

The children have done a great job so far this year! They are continuing to learn about a positive learning community, and how to be a respectful member of their classroom.
We have moved on to Unit 2 of Math. You should have received a packet home last week called a "Family Letter" that describes the concepts that we will be learning as well as the answers to the Home Links in case you want to check your child's homework at night.

We reached our first marble goal!!!

Our class earns marbles for great behavior and effort. The students have been doing a wonderful job and already reached their first goal of 200 marbles!!!!

To celebrate reaching their goal, the class voted on a reward. The majority vote went to bringing in a small stuffed animal and watching an educational movie clip. We will celebrate on Friday 9/14. They can bring a small stuffed animal to school for snack and recess time.

Welcome to Third Grade! August 2018

Dear Families,        

I hope everyone had a great summer full of adventures, new experiences and time with family and friends. My name is Ashley Chisholm, and I am excited to be your third grade teacher. Lincoln Street School is a wonderful place to be and I am glad we will be learning together! This year, we will learn about so many different topics including Immigration, Simple Machines, and The Solar System.  We will also focus on learning our multiplication and division facts. I’m looking forward to working with you and enjoying our third grade year together!

Below is a list of suggested supplies that will help make your third grade year successful! I’ve also included  important contact information and our schedule of specials. It's hard to believe that this year is already coming to a close. Your third graders, now about to be fourth graders, have been such a joy to work with. They have grown socially, emotionally, and learned so much in and out of the classroom. Family support is such a key to a successful year, and I thank ALL of you for your support for your students and me throughout the year. A big thank you to Mrs. Albertelli for teaching our kiddos while I was home..she did a wonderful job!!! Thank you to our volunteers, Mrs. Paterna, Ms. DeMaria, and Mrs. Powers. We enjoyed doing math facts with you and thank you for planning our awesome celebrations. 

I look forward to seeing you all next year! If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to find me...upstairs in Room 203!!!!  :)
